Bio:
Irene Yoon is junior at UCSB, triple majoring in Global Studies, English, and Comparative Literature. Her languages include Spanish, Russian, and Korean,and took advantage of the former to shock people while studying abroad in Madrid in the fall of 2015. Her academic interests are varied, and include postcolonial theory (especially in the Caribbean), immigration, environmental policy and biopolitics, Native American and Gothic literature. She enjoys traveling - she’s explored at least five countries a year as a solo traveler since 2012 - as well as dancing, running, and fencing. She has an undying love for all things James Joyce, lyrical dance, 1960s folk music, and yellow flowers.
